Terms & Conditions – Tuition By Teachers

1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern the services provided by Tuition By Teachers ("we," "us," "our") and apply to all tutors, students, and parents/guardians ("clients"). By using our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Booking & Payments

All payments must be made directly to Tuition By Teachers. Tutors must not accept direct payments from clients.

Failure to make payment on time may result in lesson cancellations, and Tuition By Teachers reserves the right to charge late fees.

No refunds are provided for missed lessons unless previously agreed upon in writing.

If a client books a tutor through Tuition By Teachers and later hires them privately without our involvement, they will be liable for compensation equivalent to 3-6 months' tuition fees and may face legal action.

Tutors found accepting private bookings from clients introduced by Tuition By Teachers will be removed from our register and may be held financially liable for lost revenue.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Any cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be fully chargeable.

If a tutor cancels a session, an alternative session will be arranged at a mutually convenient time.

Consistent cancellations or failure to attend lessons may result in termination of services.
4. Tutor Conduct & Responsibilities

Tutors are self-employed independent contractors and not employees of Tuition By Teachers.

Tutors are responsible for managing their own tax obligations and national insurance contributions.

Tutors must conduct themselves professionally and deliver high-quality lessons in line with our standards.

Tutors must not arrange private lessons with any Tuition By Teachers client outside our platform. If found doing so, they may be liable for lost revenue and damages and subject to legal action.

Tutors acknowledge that they are solely responsible for ensuring they comply with all legal obligations regarding their self-employed status, including tax and insurance requirements.
5. Client Conduct & Responsibilities

Clients are expected to treat tutors with respect and maintain a professional learning environment.

Any inappropriate behaviour, harassment, or misconduct may result in termination of services without a refund.

Clients must ensure students are prepared for lessons with the necessary materials and a suitable learning environment.

Clients agree that Tuition By Teachers is not responsible for the actions or behaviour of independent tutors, although we take reasonable steps to ensure tutor quality.
6. Liability & Disclaimers

While we carefully select tutors, Tuition By Teachers is not responsible for a tutor’s individual teaching methods or a student’s academic performance.

We are not liable for any disputes between tutors and clients outside of the agreed services.

Tuition By Teachers accepts no responsibility for the content of lessons delivered by tutors outside of our platform.
7. Confidentiality & Data Protection

All personal data provided to us will be handled in compliance with UK GDPR regulations.

We do not share client or tutor information with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
8. Termination of Services

Tuition By Teachers reserves the right to terminate a tutor’s or client’s access to services if they fail to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

In the case of severe breaches, legal action may be taken.
9. Amendments to Terms & Conditions

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Clients and tutors will be notified of significant changes. Tuition By Teachers reserves the right to refuse service to any individual or entity at our discretion, particularly in cases of policy breaches or legal violations.
